The exhibition is based on two events, which in Latvian collective memory are associated with the Daugava river – the public struggle for the retention of Koknese canyon and Staburags, during the building process of Pļaviņas hydroelectric power plant in 1958-1959; and the campaign for rescuing the Upper Daugava valley from possibly being flooded during the construction of the Daugavpils hydroelectric power plant in 1986-1987. The exhibition reveals, what is lost when the public opinion has lost, and what is preserved, when the public opinion wins.
