Visitors of the National History Museum of Latvia (Brīvības bulvāris 32, Rīga) have the opportunity to see an exhibition – “Power and Love. Archeological, Ethnographic and Contemporary Crowns in Latvian Culture”, which is created in connection with this year’s most important cultural event – the 150th anniversary of the Latvian Song Festival.
As the title of the exhibition suggests, its focus is on one of the most magnificent components of Latvian women’s clothing – the crown. The largest collection of these items is stored at the National History Museum of Latvia, thanks to extensive archaeological research and targeted work of ethnographic expeditions in the second half of the 19th century and the 20s – 40s of the 20th century.
The exhibition is open from 20 June to 30 December every day except Mondays.
