“Live in peace. When the spring comes it will take no effort for the flowers to bloom.” Chinese saying.
Welcome to the exhibition of Chinese Art and Calligraphy by Yekaterina Belyaeva (Latvia) and Mary Zhang (Hong Ge Zhang, China). The artists have joined their art in the exhibition and they would like to express: “The art unites people and has neither boundaries nor conditions. With our different cultural backgrounds, being born in places very far apart from one another, having different experiences in lives – when we have met we could understand each other seamlessly. Because the language we speak is the language of Art that transcends time and space.”
Yekaterina Belyaeva is the artist, illustrator and lead instructor at the school of art for children “Perspektivart” and at the Chinese art school “Flying Brush” (“Lidojoša ota”).
Mary Zhang (Hong Ge Zhang) is the artist, renown architect and construction project manager. Mary has been living in Latvia for 2 years now, doing what she loves best – doing art.
The exhibition theme is about flowers, friendship and waking up to life after the winter hibernation is over. Most of art pieces belong to traditional Chinese “flowers-birds” (hwanyao) se-yi style, which is free-flowing ink without contour. Additional works are graphics, photography and installations.
The artists would like to acknowledge and thank their beloved teachers Yuan Zi (China), Yulia Naumova (Russia – China) and Lyudmila Perets (academic drawing, Latvia).
It is possible to visit it from the 9th of March till 10th of April.
